I have been working on my portfolio since spring quarter. And I have been adding all my awards and news articles I was fetured in. What do I do? Should I add some lessons that I know will help my future 1st graders to my portfolio? What else should I add to it?

I am a student teacher for first grade and want to do something easy, but fun and memorable during my last day with my students. Any ideas?

He is literally having the 2nd grade teacher bring classwork to his 1st grade class and he does it on his own while the rest of the class learns things he learned like 2 years ago. His teacher has even said, ” I don’t know what to do with him other then let him lead the class, and the school no longer advances students to the next grade.” ( and now he is having behavior problems in class and with other students, ISS & suspension- next will be expulsion.) What should I do?

My daughter will be turning 6 this September and she supposed to go to 1st grade this fall, but due to family circumstances she will start school next year. Did anybody have the same situation? I’m worried a little bit.
Please, any advise will be helpfull.

Hello. I have been offered a 1st grade classroom near my hometown. I have to relocate in order to take the job,which is fine. I would like some suggestions from lower primary teachers on what they include in their classrooms,routines, websites etc. I have had student teaching experience and substitute experience at that grade level,but would love to hear from anyone that would like to help me. THANK YOU!!!

I babysit my cousin sometimes, shes in 1st grade and she easily gets bored. She watches TV, colors draws. I Help her do homework too but she gets bored alot and runs in my room .
What should i buy or do to keep her busy? Besides what i wrote earlier and giving them food.
Sometimes her lil sister comes too. (Preschool)

Ok,,, now there is this girl i have known since 1st grade. In in 9th now and i really like her. We have been bff’s since 1st. When i see her in the hallways though she puts on a little smile and thats about. About a year ago she said she has always had a thing for me and says that when we are older we will go out. What do u think?

I was just wondering because, schools are changing all the time; and I was thinking if teachers would have to start teaching 1st grade and Kindergarten fractions and X’s tables.
