What Are Some Fun 1st Grade Activities To Do As A Going Away Activity?
I am a student teacher for first grade and want to do something easy, but fun and memorable during my last day with my students. Any ideas?

Get a cake and write Thank You on it, and write all their names in icing. If you can have them help bake the cake even better. Or do this with cupcakes so they can each have their own names.
A cook out would be fun, too. Hot dogs, chips, and punch and some extra play time and the kids would be happy. They would also like a pizza party instead of regular lunch.
Write a little poem, include each one’s name and something good about them. Read it out loud. Write each one a little individual note for them to read privately. Help them if they can’t read.
Have you taken pictures while you’ve been there? Put them on a CD and burn one for each child.
Make your last day a fun day, pajama day, backwards day, crazy hat/socks day, a color day, Dr. Seuss day, something fun like that, and have an all day (or half day) party, depending on what they can handle.
Remember that you’ve only been with the kids for a semester, and they’re very young. They may remember you, but chances are they won’t, unless you get a job at that school. Don’t go overboard. Congratulations on finishing your internship!
have everyone bring in a white t-shirt, and have the kids go around and write on them
this one could take time, and a little expense
have a huge sheet of paper on the ground, have them create one giant picture, then have them all sign their names
take it have it shrunk down and get copies made, give each one to the students, laminate the large one hang it in the classroom
Take a class picture. Cut it out w/ scrapbook scissors for fun edges. Glue it to a piece of cardstock. Have every student come make a thumbprint around the picture using either an ink pad or craft paint. Write each child’s name by their thumbprint and make a smile face on their thumbprints. Frame it.
I do that with my kids every year and keep all the pictures framed. Each year I add that class’s framed picture to the wall.
If you want something for the kids not you…….Take a class picture. Print out enough copies for each student. Glue the pictures to large construction paper (12X18). Let each child sign or “autograph” each others papers. Then have all the pages laminated. Students will have a “placemat” to take home and remember their class from that year. Before you laminate, be sure to write the student name, teacher name, grade, year and school name on the back of each page.
Have fun!
wow, the first thing that comes to mind is photos, maybe even digital and you can download them right on their computer. THey are really going to miss you, so remember that. Maybe have each of them bring an old t-shirt and write names and be sure you sign each one. THey need something to remember you with. Handprints, something personal
